The content of the proceedings should be the same as the posters presented in Grasse. Papers submitted must conform to the following style:
| by ftp to: | spike.cnes.fr |
|---|---|
| user: | ftp |
| password: | email address |
| directory | /depot/oersted |
| (please note that entered files cannot be modified) | |
The working group and discussion reports will also be included in the proceedings following the same procedure.
In order to issue the book as soon as possible, the texts of the lectures will be reproduced as they have been given in by their authors without any proof corrections.
The Geomagnetics group at NASA-Goddard has agreed to act as a mirror for the Ørsted holdings on the OSDC site. The mirror is accessible via FTP at snooks.gsfc.nasa.gov by entering oersted as the user name and the usual Investigator password. The Ørsted holdings are in the OSDC/data/mag-f and OSDC/data/mag-l directories.
Also available are the POGO data sets of total field and a specially processed Magsat data set. The POGO data sets are in the POGO/OGO-2, POGO/OGO-4, and POGO/OGO-6 directories. There are READ.ME files and Fortran programs in each directory. Like the Ørsted data, each day is held in its own file. The OGO-4 and OGO-6 data have not yet been converted to this format but will shortly be available. Each day is about 0.5 Mb in size.
The Magsat data set (magsat42.dat.gz) is located in the MAGSAT directory. It has been selected for quiet times and attitude accuracy better than 20 arc seconds. Kp is used to select quiet times and only data with Kp <= 1o for the observed time and Kp <= 2o for the previous three hour interval are included. Data have been decimated from the original 16 Hz to 0.02 Hz. The residuals with respect to the Comprehensive Field Model (Sabaka,T. Olsen, N, and Langel, R., 2000, A Comprehensive Model of the Near-Earth Magnetic Field: Phase 3, NASA TM-2000-209894.) were calculated and are associated with each observation. The residuals were calculated by subtracting models of the main and lithospheric fields (modeled by spherical harmonics to degree and order 42), magnetospheric, ionospheric, and toroidal fields from the observed data. Details can be found in the READ.ME file in the MAGSAT directory.
Pre-selected data for the Ørsted Initial Field Model (OIFM) can be found in the directory OIFM/ at the DSRI server, ftp.dsri.dk (user: oersted, ususal password). Pre-processed Ørsted orbit files (including model values and Apex magnetic coordinate values, see format description in README) can be found in the directory orbits/. This server also has POGO data (mirror of GSFC server) and MAGSAT Investigator B data.

Now, we have processed Ørsted MAG-F scalar data from March 15th, 1999 to May 9th, 2000. Several timing errors have been identified and corrected. Which resulted in the following files have been recreated:

To summarize, we have processed Ørsted MAG-F scalar data for the following periods:
These the data have been thoroughly tested, so there ought not be any errors, but they have still not been fully calibrated and corrected for spacecraft disturbances.
The description of the format and data are, as usual in http://www.dmi.dk/projects/oersted/SDC/DataDescF.shtml.
